Hi,
if I execute salloc on a login machine and then run any user command, I get the following error:
[testuser at login03] $ salloc -p gpu --ntasks=8 --mem=7000mb
[testuser at login03] $ sinfo
sinfo: error: Parse error in file /proc/4050/fd/5 line 1: ""
sinfo: error: Parse error in file /proc/4050/fd/5 line 4: ""
sinfo: error: Parse error in file /proc/4050/fd/5 line 6: ""
sinfo: error: Parse error in file /proc/4050/fd/5 line 7: "|"
sinfo: error: Parse error in file /proc/4050/fd/5 line 8: "|"
sinfo: error: Parse error in file /proc/4050/fd/5 line 9: "!"
.....
...............
sinfo: error: ClusterName needs to be specified
sinfo: fatal: Unable to process configuration file
The slurm packages installed on the login node:
[testuser at login03] $ rpm -qa slurm*
slurm-20.02.0-1.el7.x86_64
slurm-perlapi-20.02.0-1.el7.x86_64
The slurmctl is identified through dns srv record. If I run sinfo without prior execution of salloc, then it works.
Do cluster login nodes still require slurm.conf file?
Thank you.
Best regards
Gizo
