I haven't seen any issues with that, but then when I was at Swinburne we 
went from 17.11.x to 18.08.3 so we didn't try 18.08.0.  You probably 
want to get to 18.08.4 now it's out anyway for other bugfixes.

You may need to ramp up debugging to see if it tells you what is failing 
there.  It might be that it's something cgroup related.
